Subject: Request for Review of Media-Reported Allegations Concerning Galatasaray Sports Club Officials
Body:
Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to you as a concerned stakeholder to formally request that UEFA and FIFA examine a series of serious allegations reported in the media involving individuals who have held senior managerial or executive roles at Galatasaray Sports Club in Türkiye. This petition is submitted in good faith and with full respect for the principles of presumption of innocence. The purpose of this request is not to assert guilt, but to ask for an independent, transparent, and impartial review by the competent bodies responsible for safeguarding the integrity of international soccer. I am deeply concerned that these allegations, if proven, have introduced severe violations of ethical and financial conduct and have unfairly propagated the said club (Galatasaray Sports Club) to a position of unfair advantage leading to severe financial and sports consequences for the rest of the competing sports clubs in Turkiye. --- ### 1. Allegations concerning Mr. Erden Timur (former executive / Vice President of Galatasaray Sports Club) According to multiple Turkish and international media reports published in late 2024 and 2025, Mr. Erden Timur — a former senior executive of Galatasaray Sports Club — has been detained and investigated within the scope of a large-scale football betting and match manipulation probe conducted by Turkish prosecutors. These reports further reference suspicious financial transactions and potential violations of betting and financial regulations, discussed publicly in connection with match-fixing and money-laundering allegations. Given the seriousness of such claims and their relevance to UEFA and FIFA integrity regulations, I respectfully request that these matters be reviewed. --- ### 2. Allegations concerning Mr. Eray Yazgan (General Secretary of Galatasaray Sports Club) There have been public allegations and media discussions concerning Mr. Eray Yazgan relating to black-market activities, particularly ticketing and financial irregularities, and reports that he is detained in connection with broader investigations. Considering his official role within the club at the relevant times, clarification is required as to whether any alleged conduct may have affected: - Club governance and compliance standards - Financial transparency obligations - Competition integrity --- ### 3. Allegations concerning Mr. Lütfi Arıboğan (former Chief Executive Officer of Galatasaray Sports Club) During and following the July 3, 2011 Turkish football match-fixing investigations, longstanding allegations — recently revisited in the Turkish press — suggest that Mr. Lütfi Arıboğan may have collaborated with members of an illegal organization to influence investigative processes and manipulate public perception, allegedly to the detriment of Fenerbahçe Sports Club. Given the historical significance of these events and their lasting impact on Turkish and European football, I respectfully request that UEFA and FIFA assess whether any ethical violations or abuses of authority may have occurred. --- ### 4. Allegations concerning Rezan Epozdemir (former Vice President of Galatasaray Sports Club) Rezan Epozdemir, a Turkish Lawyer and former Galatasaray Sports Club Vice President, has been arrested and placed in detention on allegations that he acted as an intermediary in bribery and facilitated corruption. Prosecutors state that the investigation relies on multiple sources, including witness testimony and digital evidence, and forms part of a broader probe into alleged corruption and integrity violations within Turkish football. --- ### 5. Integrity Concerns Taken collectively, the above-mentioned media-reported allegations raise concerns regarding: - Compliance with UEFA and FIFA Codes of Ethics - Protection of football competitions from corruption and manipulation - Responsibilities and accountability of club officials - Preservation of football's reputation and institutional neutrality --- ### 6. Request I kindly ask UEFA and FIFA to: 1. Review the publicly available media reports referenced herein and in Annex A; 2. Determine whether a preliminary inquiry or formal investigation is warranted; and 3. Take any action deemed appropriate under your respective statutes and regulations. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Yours faithfully, Concerned Football Stakeholder --- ## Annex A – Media Sources (Non-Exhaustive) A.
